- Option for Admin users to add new Products to custom Groups as an automated process.
- Ability for Admin User to search products and add the selected products to the ‘opportunity’ and export this into an excel format.

Implementation
We implemented aspects of the Salesforce environment to manage product categories (Lab Equipment, Processing Equipment, Packaging Equipment) and ‘groups’ (New Arrivals, Featured Items, Auctions and Deals). The site is mobile compatible. Here are the details:
- Implemented the logic that administrator can combine groups of products into custom groups. For example:
- Each new product created in the system will be assigned to the “New Arrivals” group and will display them on the site based on the criteria.
- Option to add any feature products into “Featured Item” Group
- For the Admin Search, we replaced the existing search application (“Kona Search” ) with Force.com based search developed using Visualforce page and Apex. We have added the features listed below with new search functionalities:
- Created dynamic Facet list of all categories with product count on the left side bar
- Expanded the search using product attributes like Manufacturer, Model, Category, Cohort, Serial Number, Product Name, etc.
- Introduced pagination and sorting for search results
- Provided option to export selected products/All products to Excel
- Provided option to attach the selected products into existing Opportunities
- Introduced Filters like Active products, Sold Products and select Product Category.
- For the Public site Search, We have replaced the existing search application (“Kona Search” ) with Force.com based search developed using Visualforce page and Apex. We have added the features listed below with new search functionalities:
- Created dynamic Facet list of all categories with product count on the left side bar
- Expanded the search using product attributes like Manufacturer, Model, Category, Cohort, Serial Number, Product Name, etc.
- Introduced pagination and sorting for search results
- Added Bread Crumbs on all the pages for easy navigation.
- Customized various forms (Enquiries, for Quote requests and Sell requests) in the Public facing site to accommodate all business scenarios.
- For improving SEO, We have introduced features listed below in the Admin Site to facilitate addition of Meta tags into Public facing site to improve search engines
- Category Page – Provide the option to add the Blurb and keyword in the Category Object and add the values in the meta tag for Google Search.
- Product Detail Page – Displaying No index meta tag on Sold Products (We should stop searching the sold items from Google).
- Provide the option to configure and adding the Blurb and Keyword in the meta tag in the Static Pages for Google Search option.
- Fixed all browser compatibility issues in the site and make the site working perfectly in the earlier versions of IE (7,8 and 9) and also on mobile browsers.
